“Clinical and operational providers are asked to handle the stress of the job and recovery support provided during this unprecedented time in history. Our team is committed to giving back to the industry that means so much to our country.”

Opus Behavioral Health, an EHR, Telemedicine and Patient Engagement company for Addiction Treatment and Behavioral Health, launched a new initiative today to recognize healthcare providers and specialists for their dedication to treatment delivery.

“September is widely recognized as National Recovery Month. Our customers have experienced an unprecedented patient increase in drug addiction and anxiety disorders due to COVID-19” said James Schmidt, Chief Executive Officer at Opus Behavioral Health. “The entire Opus Behavioral team wants to thank our healthcare champions across the United States for their dedication to serving patients in the addiction treatment and mental health system.”

Opus Behavioral has developed a website (https://www.opusbehavioral.com/mental-health-matters) where healthcare professionals can nominate a colleague who has gone above and beyond to support patient recovery and mental illness therapy. The website includes a short form where submissions will be accepted during National Recovery Month.

“We’re asking individuals to recognize their colleagues and therapy providers who feel and act with empathy toward the growing number of patients in need.”

Once a day during September 2020, the Opus Behavioral leadership team will randomly select a unique submission to receive a $100 gift card to UberEats.com. Each selected submission will be notified by email and receive their gift card electronically.

“Clinical and operational providers are asked to handle the stress of the job and recovery support provided during this unprecedented time in history” said Schmidt. “Our team is committed to giving back to the industry that means so much to our country.”

To promote the observance of National Recovery Month, Opus Behavioral is also using the #MentalHealthMatters hashtag to educate patients on the risks of drug use, uncover warning signs that lead to addiction and celebrate “A Day in the Life” of individuals who work tirelessly to save public health.

Mental health problems and addiction are chronic disorders that negatively impact both family members and patients. COVID-19 has accelerated these mental health conditions, including research studies that have shown a documented connection between COVID-19, addiction, and substance abuse.

“Whenever I’m in the field talking to our customers, I’m amazed at their commitment to the recovery process,” Schmidt continued. “We see this as a small act of kindness at a time when our industry could use a pat on the back. It’s the least we can do for those so dedicated to a growing number of patients daily.”
