“We are not newcomers to strength training so it was mind-blowing that we would have the same feeling after a 25-minute low-impact workout with the OHM EMPower suit, that we typically have after a long gym session with heavy weights.”

OHM Fitness will open 20 EMS fitness studios across North Carolina through its newest franchise partners over the next few years.

Luis and Liz Arcos recently secured the area representative rights to North Carolina and plan to open 20 locations across the state. The couple is already searching for retail spaces starting in Raleigh, around 2,000 square feet in grocery-anchored centers. Liz is a commercial broker with Phoenix Commercial Properties, so her experience will be helpful as they plan to open at least one to two locations this year.

OHM Fitness offers a high-tech, high-energy EMS fitness experience that packs the benefits of an intense two-hour workout into a low-impact, 25-minute session. The first studio opened in the company’s headquarters of Scottsdale in August of 2022 and since then, the company has sold the rights to nine territories totaling more than 150 future studios. Territories in development now include Arizona, San Diego, South Florida, New Jersey, Washington D.C, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and now, North Carolina.

The Arcos have extensive experience in franchising. They were the first franchisee for European Wax Center after meeting co-founder Joshua Coba at a franchise expo. The couple owned a number of European Wax Center locations in North Carolina and sold the business six years ago. Coba reached out to the couple about the new concept after joining OHM Fitness as an area representative for South Florida and they were instantly intrigued. They flew to Scottsdale to experience the studio and to reunite with OHM co-founder and CEO Doug Payne, whom they knew from European Wax Center. After experiencing an OHM Fitness workout, the couple was instantly sold and knew this was something they had to get in on.

“The atmosphere of group training at OHM Fitness is unmatched! The trainer’s energy and encouragement coupled with the studio atmosphere keeps you motivated and wanting to come back,” said Liz Arcos. “We are not newcomers to strength training so it was mind-blowing that we would have the same feeling after a 25-minute low-impact workout with the OHM EMPower suit, that we typically have after a long gym session with heavy weights. We are confident this is going to take off in a big way in North Carolina.”

The duo is planning on opening at least three locations themselves and will award the other licenses to qualified franchisees.

“At OHM Fitness, the EMPower Suit has the ability to produce impressive results with a desirably low rate of wear and tear on your joints, ligaments, and muscles,” said co-founder Doug Payne. “While the body’s central nervous system can only send frequency impulses that control up to 50% of your muscle fibers during an exercise, the EMS technology within the wireless OHM EMPower Suit activates 95% of the muscle. We are revolutionizing the fitness industry with this wireless technology.”

OHM Fitness is a special first-to-market franchise opportunity for entrepreneurs and experienced franchise industry professionals who are eager to capture their share in the $96 billion dollar fitness industry. The initial franchise fee is $39,000 and the total estimated initial investment ranges from $337,500 to $612,700.
