“By offering yet another temperature range service offering that is in high demand, we’re showing our current and future clients that Life Science Logistics is committed to being a one-stop shop for healthcare storage and distribution,” says LSL CEO Richard Beeny.
INDIANAPOLIS (PRWEB)
December 08, 2020
In response to ever-evolving demand for FDA-regulated, temperature-controlled storage and distribution of pharmaceutical and medical devices, Life Science Logistics (LSL), a leading, national provider of healthcare supply chain solutions, today announced the company plans to add ultra-low frozen storage to its extensive mix of life science product-related storage by the end of December 2020.
Driven by increasing demand for COVID-related and injectable drugs with “live” particulates requiring extreme freezes to preserve vaccine integrity, the company plans to add a significant number of -70-degree Celsius, ultra-low frozen storage ThermoFisher Scientific™ freezers and -25-degree Celsius ThermoFisher Scientific™ freezers to its 526,200 sq.ft. Brownsburg facility.
“By offering yet another temperature range service offering that is in high demand, we’re showing our current and future clients that Life Science Logistics is committed to being a one-stop shop for healthcare storage and distribution,” says LSL CEO Richard Beeny. “More than ever, the healthcare industry needs us to be nimble, creative and responsive as they explore new injectible trials and solutions for large-scale diseases.”
According to Beeny, the company had lots of requests pre- and during COVID for ultra-low frozen storage due to significant growth in injectible drugs for myriad diseases. He added that due to the sensitive nature of so many drugs, proper vaccine storage and handling is critical for efficacy of the products.
The company has two existing FDA-regulated storage and distribution facilities – a 526,200 sq. ft. Brownsburg facility and a 280,000 sq.ft. Whitestown facility. An additional Whitestown-based, 200,000 sq.ft. mixed-use storage facility, including cold-chain and controlled room temperature capabilities, is slated to open in early 2021.
