Nonprofit Organization ‘The ElleVet Project’ Releases New Video Detailing their Work

The ElleVet Project by ElleVet Sciences was founded in 2020 by Amanda Howland and Christian Kjaer in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. They recognized the need for veterinary care amongst the homeless populations as they would now had fewer resources than ever due to the global crisis. In an effort to reduce the death toll for street pets, the co-founders rented a 38 foot RV which they converted into a mobile vet clinic.

The first two months of this project proved to be massively successful as they were able to treat over 1200 pets. The co-founders recognized the overwhelming need for veterinary care for this vulnerable population and decided to turn the ElleVet Project into a permanent philanthropic organization. Since the launch in 2020, the ElleVet Project has expanded to more cities and states and has treated thousands and thousands of pets of the unhoused, including emergency lifesaving surgeries.

Their latest video content showcases what the ElleVet Project has been up to over the past few years. It includes interviews with the co-founders in addition to interviews with some of the pet owners who have benefited from ElleVet’s care. ElleVet also gives an exclusive look at their mobile veterinary center.

Also covered in the new video is the work that ElleVet did for hurricane Ian in Florida. “As we watched the coverage of hurricane Ian, my mind kept going to all the animals that were going to be lost,” said Howland. She went on to say that they “headed down as fast as we could to Florida to go where we were needed” as soon as the storm hit. The ElleVet Project is proud of their work in Florida and wishes to keep expanding so they can go wherever they are needed, whenever they are needed.
