Noblis to Offer Insights on the Potential of Large-scale Autonomous Systems at NVTC Autonomous Technology Summit on Nov. 7

Noblis award winning, Autonomy at Scale concept is helping realize the vision of trusted autonomous operations allowing connected vehicles to communicate, self-organize and safely interact.

” … The recent launch of our Pieces of Eight (Po8) -Trusted Autonomy program demonstrates how forward-thinking research and technical solutions are helping government and commercial customers solve complex challenges,” said Amr ElSawy, president and chief executive officer, Noblis.

Researchers from Noblis, a leading provider of science, technology and strategy services to the federal government, will discuss how earned trust and blockchain technology can enable autonomous systems to transform how we travel and deliver goods at the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) Autonomous Technology Summit on Nov. 7, at the INOVA Center for Personalized Health in Fairfax.

The summit, in partnership with the Virginia Unmanned Systems Center at CIT, will feature experts from commercial, defense, regulatory and academic sectors discussing the opportunities, challenges and impacts of autonomous technology, and showcase Virginia’s leadership in autonomous systems. “We are delighted to be part of NVTC’s summit,” said Amr ElSawy, president and chief executive officer, Noblis. “One of the many research efforts Noblis has undertaken in the past few years is to study the effects of autonomy on a larger scale across air, sea, land, space, and cyber domains. The recent launch of our Pieces of Eight (Po8) -Trusted Autonomy program demonstrates how forward-thinking research and technical solutions are helping government and commercial customers solve complex challenges.”

The Noblis Po8 trusted autonomous operations concept has received significant recognition since its public release. It will be recognized with a 2019 Government – Industry Innovator award from 1105 Public Sector Media Group on Nov. 7; and it earned the Highest Potential Impact Award and the Most Creative Award at the MOBI (mobility open blockchain initiative) Grand Challenge in Munich, Germany in February 2019.

At the summit, Noblis’ Karl Wunderlich, director of surface transportations systems, will offer a keynote on the transformative benefits of autonomous systems, heterogenous, unfamiliar and connected machines and their need to self-organize and develop relationships that are similar to human trust – but also fundamentally different. Noblis researcher Drew Dudash will participate in a panel and share insights on how blockchain technology allows unfamiliar, heterogenous machines to form ad hoc, many-to-many relationships with each other and the surrounding IoT ecosystem, and how it can improve cybersecurity.
