New Jersey Vision Associates (http://www.NJVision.net), led by Mitchell Vogel, M.D., F.A.C.S., announced it is accepting new patients for its recently added Dry Eye Center of Excellence. The Center is located at N.J. Vision Associates office at 1455 Broad Street, Suite 110, Bloomfield, New Jersey.
6.8% of the United States adult population (approximately 16.4 million people) have been diagnosed with dry eye disease (D.E.D.), according to National Health and Wellness Survey statistics. Dry eye symptoms typically occur in both eyes and include stinging, burning, or scratchiness; eye fatigue; sensitivity to light; difficulty wearing contact lenses; excessive tearing; or blurry vision. In addition, dry eye can damage eye tissues, leaving tiny abrasions on the surface that can impair vision.
“As individuals age, they are more likely to experience dry eye disease and blepharitis. In addition, our dependence on computers, tablets, and phones also contributes to dry eye. Therefore, it has become important to create the Dry Eye Center of Excellence for our patients’ benefit,” said Dr. Vogel. “We use the latest diagnostic equipment and FDA-approved technologies to pinpoint and treat the root causes of dry eye disease. With customized treatment plans, our patients can experience less discomfort and vision impairment.”
