New Educational Resource Created for Pulmonary Hypertension Patients to Launch on Rare Disease Day

A new educational resource website for the pulmonary hypertension (PH) community will launch publicly on Rare Disease Day, February 28. Nonprofit Team PHenomenal Hope has created its educational website Learn Live Breathe PH, at learnlivebreatheph.org, for people who are newly diagnosed or living with pulmonary hypertension.

PH is a rare disease that causes high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs, which puts unnecessary stress on both the heart and then lungs. Currently, there is no cure, and, eventually, it can be fatal. One of the most aggressive symptoms of the disease is shortness of breath, which prevents patients from being able to do ordinary things, such as climbing the stairs, without becoming exhausted.

Written by experts in the field, Learn Live Breathe PH was created to help PH patients navigate the complexities of living with this chronic illness and feel empowered by relevant, scientific information. The website compiles vital information needed after being diagnosed, including PH basics, disease management, treatment, and life after diagnosis, making it a one-stop-shop for patients.

Founder of Team PHenomenal Hope, and content writer for the website, Dr. Patricia George shared, “I am so eager to see this website go live. My colleagues in the field and I created it to help empower people throughout their journey with pulmonary hypertension. We wanted to create something with solid information in a crisp site that is easy to navigate, and I hope that this does that. I look forward to seeing it continue to evolve in the years to come.”

Team PHenomenal Hope was created to bring together a worldwide team of individuals to build a community and improve the quality of life for those living with PH. To succeed in that mission, Team PHenomenal Hope embodies the culture and spirit of endurance racing, and works to unify patients, caregivers, athletes, and donors.
