NeuroFlow, the leading provider of digitally integrated behavioral health solutions, is announcing an expansion of care service offerings enabling providers to deliver effective collaborative, integrated care without straining their existing resources. The new offerings augment traditional services, increasing bandwidth for clinical professionals at a time when COVID-19 has amplified a growing accessibility divide for those seeking mental health care.
“Prior to the pandemic, patients were looking at an average wait time of about 25 days for a psychiatry appointment. That’s fundamentally unacceptable, and the problem has only been exacerbated in recent months,” said NeuroFlow CEO Chris Molaro. “We need to reimagine the care delivery process by implementing better levers for escalation, and this includes empowering patients to find their own path with the help of coordinators to guide them through the process. NeuroFlow’s technology exists to set-up providers for success as they identify and care for patients who need timely and consistent support for mental health symptoms.”
The announcement follows the recent release of a company report attributing a rise in individuals seeking clinical treatment for their mental health during the pandemic. NeuroFlow is currently being used by independent medical groups, progressive health systems, leading health plans, and federal government organizations — all of which have different staffing models overseeing their patient populations. By expanding these services, and adding new coaches and coordinators to the NeuroFlow team, the company will be able to deliver real-time feedback to providers and get patients enrolled in custom care programs tailored to their needs.
“Mental health care is not a one-size-fits-all solution. Patients deserve a personalized experience, as do our clinical partners,” said NeuroFlow Director of Clinical Operations Matt Miclette, MPH, RN. “We were very sensitive to the fact that our system needed to support existing clinical workflows in order to improve staff efficiency, while integrating behavioral health services that benefited the individuals who needed it the most. By helping to integrate behavioral health where people already receive their care, providing technology solutions for preventative self-management, and now providing clinical services to reach out to those at highest risk, we are helping to close the gap for the 60 million people in the U.S. that have never sought mental health treatment and who don’t know where to go if they needed it.”
NeuroFlow provides clinical decision and assessment support to thousands of physicians across the country, including Jefferson Health, as well as New Jersey-based Relievus, a pain management practice affected by behavioral health comorbidities. With remote care and expanded care services, the partnership has allowed Relievus to support more than 4,000 patients by using scoring and risk stratification models with their clinical team. At Jefferson, the focus has been on improving retention and completing more assessments that directly inform the clinical treatment of mental health symptoms.
Studies have shown that technology can reduce barriers and serve as a ‘gateway’ to more formal, sustained treatment. Nearly 75% of NeuroFlow users remain engaged and active on the platform after eight weeks, a leading indicator of better health outcomes.
