The National Infusion Center Association (NICA) has become a trade association dedicated to advancing the office-based delivery channel for provider-administered medications. NICA’s first priority as a trade association was to engage Hart Health Strategies, a D.C.-based government relations firm, to strengthen the voice of non-hospital, community-based infusion providers in high-level national policy discussions with decision makers.
Hart Health Strategies (HHS) is a bi-partisan consulting and lobbying firm specializing in legislative and regulatory health care issues. The HHS team has extensive experience and expertise working on coalition building, educating key members of Congress and administration officials on important health issues, advocating for health-related federal funding, and conducting policy research. The HHS team bolsters NICA’s bi-partisan legislative expertise and multi-talented backgrounds in health-related fields, including nursing, epidemiology, and health information management. As a firm focused exclusively on healthcare, we are excited for them to complement our deep, substantive expertise on medical benefit and healthcare policy issues, including Medicare payment, quality reporting, the pharmaceutical supply chain, and coverage issues in building a strong infusion provider voice and presence in D.C.
President and founder of Hart Health Strategies, Vicki Hart, has personal relationships with numerous members of Congress on both sides of the aisle, and the entire HHS team has longstanding relationships with staff representing both parties in both chambers.. Previously, the firm’s staff worked for the United States Senate within leadership, in personal offices, and at the committee level. In the House of Representatives, staff worked at the committee level and for senior members of all three key health care committees.
Through this new strategic engagement, NICA is excited to continue championing for the medical benefit drug delivery channel and the value it brings to optimizing health outcomes, maximizing quality of life, and minimizing the physical, emotional, and financial burdens of complex, chronic disease for our nation’s most vulnerable citizens.
The National Infusion Center Association (NICA) is a nonprofit organization with the mission to preserve and advance the trade of furnishing provider-administered medications in non-hospital, community-based care settings. NICA’s efforts are focused on addressing and overcoming challenges and threats to the sustainability of the most affordable care setting for provider-administered medications.
