Passing the RHIT exam…will help professionals become more marketable throughout their careers

National American University (NAU) will host its first free, multi-day workshop January 11-22 to help Health Information Technology students and graduates prepare for their Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification exam.
The workshop sessions will be held January 11, 13, 21 and 22 and are open to any last-term student or recent graduate of a CAHIIM accredited Health Information Technology degree program. The workshop will be led by Dr. LaShunda Smith, PhD, RHIA, CHC, CHDA, CHTS-IM, CHTS-PW, CHTS-TR, CPC, Associate Dean of NAU’s Health Management programs. During the sessions, students will refresh their knowledge and solidify an understanding of concepts learned throughout their education in order to prepare to successfully pass the RHIT exam.
“Passing the RHIT exam is an important milestone that’s necessary for a career in health information and will help professionals become more marketable throughout their careers. NAU is proud to offer students opportunities to successfully earn the credentials that demonstrate their competence and helps them to advance in the health information field,” said Dr. Smith.
The RHIT exam prep workshop expands on NAU’s Power Up! Career Series; a series designed to help adult learners explore and advance their careers by furthering their education. In addition to Dr. Smith, instructors include NAU faculty members and Health Information Technology advisory board members who are industry experts with more than 80 years of combined experience in the field.
