The United Breast Cancer Foundation and JJ Yeley of Rick Ware Racing partnered to raise breast cancer awareness for the NASCAR community at the Hollywood Casino 400 on Sunday, October 18th, at the Kansas Speedway.
The Hollywood Casino 400 is a 400.5-mile NASCAR Cup Series stock car race and is the seventh of ten races in the Cup Series playoffs. JJ Yeley drove car #27 in a full wrap featuring UBCF’s logo and vibrant pink and blue colors making it pop from anywhere in the stands. Yeley held the 34th starting position.
It was a cold and windy October day with temperatures in the mid 40s but all in attendance dressed warm and had a wonderful time! Thankfully, the race was without incident with no car crashes. Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick battled for 40 laps with Logano eventually taking the checkered flag for the win.
Yeley gained four spots finishing in 30th place. Yeley stayed after the race, “ We had a positive finish for a day that started out a little on the rough side. It’s wonderful having the United Breast Cancer Foundation on my Rick Ware racing Chevrolet, which was a new car that we had not run previously this year. I dealt with some handling issues in the early part of the race that cost us some valuable track position. I was hoping for more but a top 30 finish was still a positive result.”
This coming Sunday, UBCF will again make an appearance on Yeley’s car #27 in the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. The race starts at 3:30 pm EST and can be watched on NBC Sports. Casper’s Ice Cream, the title sponsor for this weekend’s race, has generously donated a portion of the car to UBCF – together we can Drive Out Breast Cancer!
United Breast Cancer Foundation Executive Director, Ms. Stephanie Mastroianni shared, “UBCF is embracing our partnerships with JJ Yeley behind the wheel and the Rick Ware Racing team, as we rally for breast cancer patients and survivors in our communities. Casper’s Ice Cream has generously included UBCF, coming off the Hollywood Casino 400, with our logo placement on car #27 for the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 at the Texas Motor speedway race this Sunday. The NASCAR community truly is a family, and its sponsors recognize the importance and need to raise awareness about breast cancer.
