Two of the Hudson Valley’s top-rated physical therapy groups today announced that they have teamed up in a bold effort to significantly increase area residents’ access to advanced, highly innovative musculoskeletal care and related services.
The two groups are Orange Physical Therapy and ACCESS PT, longtime familiar names to patients and physicians alike throughout Orange County. The new relationship—formed in May—brings Middletown-based Orange Physical Therapy into the fast-growing network of more than 50 ACCESS PT physical therapy clinics spread across the Mid-Atlantic region and New England.
Now known as ACCESS PT Middletown, Orange Physical Therapy continues to operate from its same convenient location as before—495 Schutt Road Extension, Suite 9, in Middletown—and remains staffed by the same team of extraordinarily skilled and caring specialists.
“Really, the only most-visible change now that we’ve joined the ACCESS PT family is the name on our front door,” said ACCESS PT Middletown Director Aaron Loeffler, PT, DPT, who with his wife Elena Chaves-Loeffler, PT, DPT, founded the former Orange Physical Therapy. “However, as a member of this outstanding provider organization, our therapists and support staff are now able to fully concentrate on doing what they do best—and that is helping patients move better, feel better, and live better.”
Loeffler said the roster of services previously provided by Orange Physical Therapy is also unchanged now that the facility is operating under the ACCESS PT banner. These services include physical therapy, manual therapy, sports injury treatment, post-surgical care, myofascial release, torticollis, and the clinic’s signature offering, pelvic floor therapy.
“We’re still one of the rare few standalone clinics in the area making pelvic floor therapy available,” Loeffler said.
Prior to their uniting, Orange Physical Therapy and Campbell Hall-based ACCESS PT shared a long history of serving the Orange County area. The Loefflers opened their Middletown facility in 2003, the same year that ACCESS PT began seeing physical therapy patients in nearby Montgomery (ACCESS PT eventually expanded into the towns of Goshen, Chester, Monroe, and Port Jervis, with administrative offices established a mere stone’s throw from Middletown).
Like the former Orange Physical Therapy, ACCESS PT quickly became a favorite among patients. The recent winner of a Times Herald-Record Readers’ Choice Award for best physical therapy provider in the area, ACCESS PT earned its popularity by—among other things—eliminating barriers to care with innovations such as offering evening appointments and directly accepting some patients without a referral from a primary care physician.
Loeffler explained that ACCESS PT and Orange Physical Therapy were brought together in part by their similar cultures and values, but more importantly by a commonly held desire to maximize the efficiency of their services in order to be able to help more patients.
“We’re excited to be part of the ACCESS PT organization,” said Loeffler. “This relationship is allowing us to synergistically deliver the physical therapy services that people in Middletown and beyond need. As a united team of providers, we’re elevating care to the next level.”
ACCESS PT Regional Director Lori Schneider, PT, MS, DPT, agreed. “This is an ideal pairing,” she said, “and we are excited to welcome the team from Orange Physical Therapy to the ACCESS PT family. Their team brings to our region great experience in geriatrics, orthopedics, pediatrics, and pelvic floor rehabilitation.”
ACCESS PT Middletown is open weekdays: Tuesday through Friday hours are 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Monday hours are 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
