MedShift Announces Latest Updates to its Existing MedBox Technology

“The recent updates applied to both MedBox and its optional E-commerce add-on will aid our customers in offering a more unique experience to patients, as well as assist in making product and treatment purchase and delivery more manageable,” said Brian Phillips, MedShift’s CEO.

MedShift, a Charlotte-based leader in software enabled medical technology, announced today numerous updates to its existing MedBox technology, including upgrades to its optional E-commerce platform. The updates are said to place a direct focus on various quality of life enhancements, helping to improve the platform experience for both medical practice users and their patients.

MedBox is a practice-facing web application that facilitates the management of recurring procedures and product deliveries for customers. Through MedBox, medical practices can be sure that all products and treatments purchased through the platform are paid in full, leaving no room for outstanding payments owed by patients. This is beneficial to both parties, as medical practices can be sure that all payments are received in full before treatment day, and can relieve some financial stress for patients who are looking to make gradual payments on recurring treatments.

Additionally, the optional E-commerce integration provides medical practices with a unique online store for patients to utilize, as well as an E-commerce order fulfillment suite that MedShift serves. This means that for practices offering shippable products, the E-commerce integration will allow patients access to online shopping, rather than having to make a visit to the practice to purchase desired items. Through offering online purchasing options, both the practice and patient benefit, as MedBox allows for customers to receive requested items even with busy schedules.

A key update with MedBox is the new payment method offering, which allows users to have multiple cards on file, whereas the old platform version only allowed for single card use. This is beneficial to the patient in that it allows for split payment options, rather than full payments on a single card. Additionally, the MedShift Engineering team implemented a new login system that allows for enhanced security, making platform navigation easy to manage and more safe for users than previous versions.

Along with new payment methods and additional login security features, MedBox now allows for product variation listings. In previous versions, the platform only allowed for single product listings, but users now have the ability to add a single product to the store with various purchasing options based on different variations such as size and quantity. This feature is said to allow for all products on a practice’s store to be supported within MedBox, so that items can go into the system in a way that is streamlined.

Another update from MedShift’s Engineering team is Quick Ship, which was originally implemented so that a practice user would have access to shipping labels and tracking numbers for shipments that were not linked to a specific product. In theory, a practice user could ship any desired product with the Quick Ship feature, which is beneficial because the feature allows for shipping records to be present with MedShift’s interface, rather than interfacing with an outside shipping provider. Along with this, new layout themes and more customizations have been added to the E-commerce side of the platform, making the appearance of each store unique and tailored to each customers’ requests. “Incorporating additional customization options to the platform has not only helped to make each online store unique, but also allows for more options when working to meet individual needs based on each practice’s offerings,” said Adam Walsh, Director of Engineering at MedShift. With the new customization additions, practices can now add various tabs to their stores, select new design layouts that align with their brand and even choose multiple shipping carriers and rates.

In addition to the above updates, the MedShift Engineering team also completed the writing of a new tax report system, which can be viewed on a per county and per state basis in the United States. This is beneficial to MedShift’s customers when it comes to accounting purposes, as data can be accessed in a single designated area through an easy-to-view format. This addition to MedBox is said to help customers when paying taxes and managing other accounting-related aspects of business.

“The recent updates applied to both MedBox and its optional E-commerce add-on will aid our customers in offering a more unique experience to patients, as well as assist in making product and treatment purchase and delivery more manageable,” said Brian Phillips, MedShift’s CEO. The mentioned updates are said to help encourage patient retention by offering various customizable levels and plans for MedShift’s customers and their patients, making the process of purchasing products and treatments very straightforward.
