This is a powerhouse team of healthcare professionals and we are proud they chose to join our firm. These lawyers have some of the most impressive credentials and trial experience, and I know they will thrive at our firm.

Less than one year after launching Mayer LLP, the firm has grown to nearly 40 attorneys. The most recent additions are four well-known healthcare attorneys with extensive trial and appellate experience in medical malpractice and professional liability, as well as two paralegals and a finance administration professional.

“This is a powerhouse team of healthcare professionals and we are proud they chose to join our firm. These lawyers have some of the most impressive credentials and trial experience, and I know they will thrive at our firm,” said Zach Mayer, founding partner of Mayer LLP. “We’ve experienced terrific growth and success since launching in January which proves our philosophy and approach to serving our clients is exactly what the market needed.”

The lawyers joining the firm include William D. “Dick” Wiles, a medical malpractice attorney who has tried more than 100 cases, and M. Kenneth (Ken) Patterson, a trial lawyer for nearly 40 years with a remarkable track record of success, having achieved a favorable verdict for his clients in over 96 percent of cases tried. Both Wiles and Patterson are members of the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates, an invitation-only organization of experienced trial lawyers and judges.

“This firm is exactly the right place for us to bring our healthcare and appellate practices. Mayer LLP is a growing firm with a unique model that we know will serve our clients’ interests very well,” said Dick Wiles. “They have achieved something remarkable in a short time, and we’re delighted to join this high energy team.”

Also joining the healthcare practice is Heather A. Kanny, a litigator who has successfully defended physicians and hospitals across Texas in cases with multi-million-dollar damage exposure. Kevin J. Keith, who is Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1987, will be heading the appellate section at Mayer LLP. Keith has handled over 100 appeals in state and federal courts throughout Texas, as well as practiced in the U.S. Supreme Court and Texas Supreme Court.

All four of the new attorneys joining Mayer LLP are leaving Hiersche Hayward Drakeley Urbach, an Addison-based law firm that will cease operations at the end of 2019. In addition to the lawyers, two paralegals and one finance administrator are also leaving HHDU to join Mayer LLP.

Mayer LLP is a law firm with nearly 40 lawyers and offices in Dallas, Houston and Albuquerque. The firm was launched in January 2019 with a group of experienced, like-minded attorneys who saw an opportunity to combine their energy, skill, and entrepreneurial spirit to create a place where the client’s interests are always the top priority. Practice areas include litigation, labor and employment, real estate, tax, corporate transactions and healthcare.
