“NeurCare aims to revolutionize patient care with smartphone technology for remote monitoring and early detection of cognitive conditions”

Marc Fischer, CEO and Co-Founder of Dogtown Media, is scheduled to speak at the 75th American Academy of Neurology (AAN) Annual Meeting about his innovative venture, NeurCare, and the remote monitoring of neurological patients. The presentation will take place on Thursday, April 27th, at 11:45 AM EST, both in-person in Boston and live online. The session is titled “Remote Monitoring of Neurological Patients.”
“I’m deeply grateful to the AAN for this opportunity to present NeurCare to the world’s leading neurology experts. Their insights and feedback are crucial to fulfilling our mission,” said Marc Fischer.
The AAN Annual Meeting, which will be held from April 22-27, 2023, offers a diverse program covering a wide range of topics and specialties in neurology. It provides valuable educational and networking opportunities for attendees, including advanced practice providers, business administrators, general neurologists, medical students, neurohospitalists, non-neurologists, residents, and specialist neurologists.
Fischer’s presentation will focus on the NeurCare app, a mobile health solution developed by Dogtown Media in collaboration with the National Institutes of Health (NIH). NeurCare is designed to remotely monitor patients with neurological disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and provide early detection of neurotoxicity due to CAR T-Cell immunotherapy treatments.
The worldwide shortage of neurologists and recent COVID-related restrictions have led to fewer neurological exams, resulting in delayed diagnosis and suboptimal patient care. NeurCare aims to address this gap in care by using smartphone-embedded sensors to measure various neurological functions autonomously, right from a patient’s homes.
Fischer’s session will discuss the development and testing of NeurCare’s smartphone tests, which evaluate fine finger movements with differing contributions of specific neurological domains. The study conducted on multiple sclerosis patients has demonstrated promising results, suggesting that smartphone apps like NeurCare can one day recreate the entire neurological examination.
“Presenting NeurCare at the AAN Annual Meeting is an honor, and we’re excited to collaborate with the world’s leading neurologists to drive innovation and enhance patient outcomes in the field of neurology,” said Marc Fischer, CEO and Co-Founder of Dogtown Media.
As a recognized leader in mobile app development and healthcare innovation, Dogtown Media is dedicated to improving patient outcomes and addressing critical healthcare challenges. The company has been honored with several accolades, including being named an awardee in the Improving Detection of Neurotoxicity in Immunotherapies QuickFire Challenge by Johnson & Johnson Innovation LLC. As an mHealth app developer Dogtown Media has created over 250 mobile apps in industries including Healthcare App Development, IoT, and Artificial Intelligence.
