Magellan Healthcare’s eMbrace Offers a Fresh Approach to Employee Assistance Programs


Magellan Healthcare, Inc., one of the nation’s leaders in behavioral health, today announced enhancements to eMbrace, a new frontier in employee assistance programs.

eMbrace is a one-of-a-kind benefit that addresses all areas of an employee’s life across six essential elements of wellbeing: emotional, career, social, financial, physical and community. Assessments, plans and program offerings help employees move from suffering and struggling in their everyday life to thriving.

The eMbrace solution is a significant shift in how employers can address the needs of their employees and become thriving, high-performing organizations. Through a proprietary version of the Gallup® Wellbeing Index™, eMbrace assesses if employees are thriving, struggling, or suffering across the six essential elements. Employees then get a personalized plan that directs them to services and resources that address their pressing needs first, from digital cognitive behavioral therapy (DCBT) programs, coaching, and counseling to legal, financial, and identity theft services. The eMbrace enhancements will include three new DCBT programs for insomnia, chronic pain and substance misuse.

If employees have multiple emotional or physical health concerns, they can work with a Wellbeing Navigator who will help them maximize all their employer benefits, in addition to those within eMbrace. Once employees complete the action steps in their personal plan, they can retake the survey to see how they’ve improved their wellbeing. Employers get enterprise-wide reporting on company wellbeing and progress to thriving.
