Local Arizona Taxi Company VIP Taxi Gets a Safety Overhaul in Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic

“As a family company, we’ve always felt compelled to provide the public with the same service quality that we would want for our own family. We’ve looked at what is considered acceptable anti-viral procedures and gone far beyond that scope for the safety of our drivers and passengers.” Dave Gauer.

In the recent months, people all over the world have suffered extensively due to the pandemic. The health of our society has been compromised as the novel coronavirus rages on. Those individuals utilizing public transportation, like buses or light rail trains, have been affected as COVID-19 makes simple tasks, such as purchasing supplies or going to a medical appointment, much more dangerous. The lack of safe transportation options has been a pressing concern for these demographics in Arizona.

VIP Taxi is led by 2019 Transportation Alliance Executive of the Year, Dave Gauer, and his two sons, Jason and Brandon Gauer. Their team always pushes for, and embraces, new technologies and ways to make rides safer for both passengers and drivers.

As the novel coronavirus was being established as a pandemic, their team was already exploring different ways to increase the level of sanitation and safety during every trip, all while continuing to provide quality transportation in Phoenix and Tucson.

Early on in the pandemic, VIP Taxi’s response began with distribution of CDC-recommended isopropyl alcohol mixtures in spray bottles drivers, along with towels and gloves to sanitize the surfaces of the vehicle thoroughly after every trip. These sanitized surfaces include but are not limited to inside & outside door handles, seat belts, payment terminals, arm rests, or glass windows. VIP Taxi goes above and beyond expectations with a bio-certified team member that provides a greater depth of cleaning through the use of fogging sanitization, UV light technologies, and more.

As the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends cloth coverings over the mouth and nose to reduce risk of further spread, VIP drivers also have reusable masks made from washable poly-cotton material.

Passengers and drivers alike have expressed their gratitude for VIP Taxi’s proactive approach to transportation services during the current health crisis. Hand sanitizer dispensers are affixed to vehicles for customers and drivers, further keeping everyone safe and making for a more comfortable and reliable ride.

“As a family company, we’ve always felt compelled to provide the public with the same service quality that we would want for our own family. Our customers know how hard we work as a team to achieve our 93% five star rating and we’re determined to be the cleanest & safest service available. We’ve looked at what is considered acceptable anti-viral procedures and we’ve gone far beyond that scope for the safety of our drivers and passengers.” said VIP Taxi company owner, Dave Gauer.

With protocols in place to provide the safest ride in Arizona during COVID-19, VIP Taxi aims to protect both drivers and passengers, setting a new standard of safety in transportation and taking on the challenges ahead as they come.
