Lakeside Milam Recovery Centers Hires New Medical Director

KIRKLAND, Wash. (PRWEB)

After a nation-wide search, Lakeside Milam Recovery Centers has chosen Teresa Jackson, MD, FASAM to serve as the organizations next Medical Director. Dr. Jackson will be replacing Dr. Terry Rogers who announced his retirement earlier this year.

“Dr. Jackson is everything we were hoping to find in our next medical leader. She is a someone with an unyielding belief in the ability of every patient to enter into recovery from addiction, a pervasive empathy for the pain that each patient has suffered, and she exudes warmth and hope.” said Lakeside Milam President JP Liddle, “She is a respected leader within the field of addiction medicine and her belief in the role of the physician in a patients journey to recovery will be vital to Lakeside Milam’s future.”

Dr. Jackson is a board-certified Addiction Medicine physician. Prior to joining Lakeside Milam, she was the Medical Director of Addiction Medicine for Evergreen Health. After receiving her undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Arizona, she completed a surgical residency and fellowship. She began her Addiction Medicine career in 2014 in Arizona and moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2018. Dr. Jackson currently serves as the Region VIII Director on the national ASAM Board of Directors.

“At Lakeside Milam, I have found a place where I can provide low barrier, compassionate care for patients with substances use disorders and to educate families and the community to remove stigma. We must love and support patients with substance use disorders. Punishment and shame do not heal,” said Dr. Jackson. “I’m excited to begin working with the staff at Lakeside Milam to achieve these goals.”
