Labroots, the leading scientific social networking website offering premier, interactive virtual events and webinars, is hosting its 10th annual Cancer Research and Immuno-Oncology Week conference on October 4-6, 2022. The three-day content-rich agenda continues to be the go-to-meeting sharing cutting-edge discoveries and novel advancements via invited lectures and thought-provoking discussions to improve the outcomes and treatments of patients with cancer.
Cancer Research & Immuno-Oncology Week offers a prestigious forum for some of the brightest minds in the field to collaborate and share knowledge in emerging topics including cancer research, novel targeted therapies in cancer, immuno-oncology, cell therapy, and cancer research networks, epidemiology and patient advocacy.
Over 30 educational and sponsored presentations will be presented by distinguished speakers covering all aspects of cancer care and immunotherapies with sessions on cancer health disparities – using genomics to influence clinical applications, single-cell methods for cancer discovery, using image analysis in cancer research and treatment, cancer systems biology, using spatial transcriptomics to dissect the tumor microenvironment, innovative approaches to target the oncoprotein K-Ras in cancer, neoantigen vaccines, next-generation checkpoint targets, overcoming the inhibitory tumor microenvironment, emerging cell therapies (beyond CAR T cells), and much more.
Naming just a few highlights, kicking off day one, Laura Yerly, PhD Candidate, Lausanne University Hospital CHUV, Laboratory of François Kuonen, MD, PD-MER, PhD will explore the invasive niche of basal cell carcinoma as revealed by integrated multi-omics with live Q&A during this presentation sponsored by NanoString Technologies.
Shortly thereafter, attendees will hear from keynote speaker Dr. Hugo Aerts, Director, Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (AIM) Program, Associate Professor, Harvard University, sharing a presentation titled, “Artificial Intelligence for Medical Imaging” with live Q&A. “While recent advances in AI have led to a profusion of studies that apply deep learning to problems in medicine, many of these algorithms fail to bridge the gap from a research study towards clinical application,” said Hugo Aerts, founding Director of the Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (AIM) program, Mass General Brigham and Harvard Medical School. “At this conference, I will discuss our approach to bridge this translational gap towards the clinic and will conclude with a discussion on the need for open-source deep learning frameworks that are transparent and reproducible.”
The second keynote presentation on day three also with live Q&A is presented by Chadi Nabhan, MD, MBA, FACP, Chairman, Precision Oncology Alliance & Adjunct Professor, University of South Carolina, Department of Clinical Pharmacy & Outcomes Sciences, Caris Life Sciences to explore precision oncology alliance: a vision to the future, you won’t want to miss! “The Caris Precision Oncology Alliance (POA0) is the premiere precision oncology consortium in the world focusing on advancing research to improve the outcomes of patients with cancer. Through the diverse contributions of our 71 members, we work towards investigating and understanding the latest scientific developments in genomics to advance the integration of molecular profiling into all aspects of cancer care through innovation and research. We look forward to sharing how this network was incepted, and how it contributes to the future of precision medicine at the upcoming Labroots conference,” commented Dr. Chadi Nabhan, Chairman, Prescision Oncology alliance & Adjunct Professor, University of South Carolina, Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Outcome Sciences.
“We’re thrilled to produce this must-attend event for 10 consecutive years, promising to expand your knowledge in the fast-developing interdisciplinary fields of cancer research and immuno-oncology,” said Greg Cruikshank, Chief Executive Officer of Labroots. “We’re proud to be on the forefront of driving emerging research on immunotherapies in combination with other anti-cancer targeted therapies via Labroots’ unique educational platform, with the aim to significantly improve the lives of patients and to fight cancer.”
Produced on Labroots’ signature platform, this online environment allows participants to connect across desktop and mobile devices delivering a seamless educational experience. The interactive environment features a lobby equipped with leaderboard and gamification, an auditorium, featuring live-streaming video webcasts offering live attendee chats during scheduled presentations, a poster hall with a poster competition, and attendees can explore data and engage in live chat conversations, an exhibit hall to interact with sponsors and view their recent contributions in the field, and lastly a networking lounge to connect and collaborate with colleagues. By participating in this event, you can earn 1 Continuing Education credit per watched presentation for a maximum of 35 credits.
