Pediatric hospitals participating in the annual rankings are measured by various factors such as patient outcomes, including mortality and infection rates, as well as available clinical resources and compliance with best practices. To calculate these rankings, U.S. News gathered relevant data from children’s hospitals in early 2020 and from pediatric physicians and other health care organizations in 2021. Due to the pandemic, data collection from children’s hospitals was not repeated in 2021.
More than 110 pediatric hospitals across the country participated the 2021-2022 survey, including Johns Hopkins Children’s Center in Baltimore, which ranked nationally in 10 specialty areas. Specialists at All Children’s continue to collaborate with colleagues in Baltimore on a variety of treatment and research initiatives.
