Unity answers the question, “How much water does a landscape need?” - Unity decides when and how much an irrigation system needs to operate, allowing for as much available rainfall or precipitation as possible before initiating a watering schedule saving users water and establishing a more beautiful landscape.
- Unity is an environmental data platform offering an Evapotranspiration (ET) and other environmental calculations derived from multi-sources for companies to build their own products.
- Unity connects over secure cellular wireless to all models of existing ETwater smart controllers and other units in the field.
Jain Irrigation, Inc., (“JAIN”), the world leader in irrigation technology, today announces the general availability (GA) release of JAIN Unity, an automatic irrigation control system and environmental data services platform. Unity is the first-ever smart irrigation solution for landscape management fully powered by artificial intelligence and predictive analytics.
Jain Unity gives users (contractors, water managers, home and building owners) direct access to view how much water the plants in their landscape requires, along with real-time visibility to the efficiency of their irrigation system for eliminating water waste.
Arcadis and Bluefield Research recently released a report that is projecting over 36% of U.S. households won’t be able to afford water in the next five years. “Irrigation, like landscaping in general, is fertile ground for AI to be a game-changer in sustaining our water supply,” said Richard Restuccia, VP Water Management Solutions at JAIN.
“Jain Unity processes over a billion pieces of information hourly on how soil moisture responds to rain or irrigation events based on the different plant factors, soil types, weather, and environmental conditions at the site-specific location. Connecting to irrigation control that automatically acts upon this algorithm to implement the best strategies for minimizing water usage, and managing nutrient loss fulfills the promise of AI and predictive analytics. A user’s ability to see and understand their water usage outdoors engages them directly in its conservation; reinforcing changes to their behavior that can add up to substantial cost savings for them, while also contributing to greater water resource savings for our communities’ livability and affordability.”
Aric Olson, President of Jain Irrigation, said, “Jain Unity builds upon the patented core ETwater technology we acquired in 2018 to now offer a wealth of environmental services along with the renown, centralized smart irrigation control. Designed for extensibility that allows swift integration of virtually an unlimited number of data sources, the Unity platform can cross-correlate and analyze data in a learning system that intelligently, automatically adapts to make continuous improvement for sustainable resource consumption. Its release marks an important event for JAIN toward ‘unifying’ our broad AgTech base worldwide and meeting the challenges in a rapidly changing future of water.”
