Interbit Data to Hold Webinar: ‘From Attack to Recovery: Your Cybersecurity Battle Plan’

Interbit Data, a leading technology company providing care teams with on-demand access to crucial patient data, will host a webinar on Thursday, Dec. 3 discussing how hospitals should respond in the wake of a crippling cyberattack.

The webinar is titled, “From Attack to Recovery: Your Cybersecurity Battle Plan” and will be led by Interbit Data President and CEO Arthur Young. It’s the second Interbit Data webinar on the topic of hospital cyberattacks, and it follows a recent alert from the FBI, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services warning of “an increased and imminent cybercrime threat to U.S. hospitals and healthcare providers.”

Young, an entrepreneur with an extensive background in healthcare and technology, believes that systems restoration should be only part of a hospital’s response plan and that people, not technology, are ultimately the most important factor in cybersecurity. As such, he will outline what needs to go into a hospital’s disaster response plan and post-attack communications plan.

“You want to create a playbook so that people know what to do and they’re not left alone — especially because communication will be compromised in all these scenarios,” said Arthur Young, President and CEO of Interbit Data. “You’re not trying to create a new solution, you’re looking to get as close to normal as possible in a remarkable situation.”

Hospital and health system leaders, healthcare IT vendors, industry consultants and analysts, and members of the news media are invited to attend the webinar.
