“We’ll hear straight talk from two nurse executives about what frontline caregivers need from hospital leadership in order to provide uninterrupted care during even the worst-case scenario of a crippling cyberattack, when there is no access to patient information or other hospital data.”

Interbit Data, a leading technology company providing care teams with on-demand access to crucial patient data, will host a panel discussion on the topic of cybersecurity and downtime preparedness with two nurse technology leaders. The webinar, titled “Hospital Cybersecurity and Frontline Patient Care: The Nurse’s Perspective,” will take place Thursday, Jan. 28 from 1-1:45 p.m. EST.

Featuring a roundtable Q&A format, the webinar will explore the ramifications of hospital cyberattacks on patient care and the patient experience. Panelists will also discuss problems with downtime training and preparedness by clinical staff. Joining Interbit President and CEO Arthur Young will be two leading healthcare technology executives with extensive backgrounds in clinical nursing and healthcare technology:

  • Antoinette Thomas, MSN, RN, NP, U.S. Chief Patient Experience Officer, Microsoft
  • Grace Jaime, RN, MBA, Regional Leader, Healthcare Provider Practice, Cognizant

In an unscripted conversation, the three will discuss what’s really at stake as more and more hospitals are targeted by cybercriminals, along with what frontline care providers truly need during this era of heightened anxiety and uncertainty brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and threat of cyberattacks. There will also be time for attendees to ask questions.

“Health system leaders rightly focus on cybersecurity prevention and restoration measures while neglecting to plan for how they will continue to deliver high-quality patient care during unplanned downtimes,” said Young, a healthcare technology veteran who has been an entrepreneur since 1997. “We’ll hear straight talk from two nurse executives about what frontline caregivers need from hospital leadership in order to provide uninterrupted care during even the worst-case scenario of a crippling cyberattack, when there is no access to patient information or other hospital data.”

Hospital and health system leaders, healthcare IT vendors, industry consultants and analysts, and members of the news media are invited to attend the webinar.
