InHome Therapy, a network of physical, occupational, and speech therapists who work in patients’ home settings, continues to grow and expand its reach. The company finalized an acquisition deal with Texas-based Libertas Rehab at the end of August.
Libertas Rehab is a home therapy concept serving the metro areas of Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Austin, El Paso, Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston. The business was created in 2014 by Martin Salazar III, Joseph Banlasan, and Jose Salvador, who together had a combined 55 years of experience in healthcare and wanted to bring quality care to people’s homes.
Over their eight years in business, they grew Libertas Rehab to a network of about 200 therapists who conduct an average of 60,000 patient visits annually. This acquisition of providers and guests is a big step in InHome Therapy’s continued expansion.
“We were interested in them because acquiring their brand has enabled us to further expand in the Texas market. We are now in areas that we weren’t in prior because they have a very broad coverage area within the state,” said Rick Anglin, InHome Therapy’s Corporate Development Officer. “We’re excited because their relationships will enable us to grow into other markets as well.”
Salazar, Banlasan, and Salvador, who are joining on as managing partners, are excited to now operate under the InHome Therapy name. Joining a bigger brand affords them many opportunities on a broader scale.
When the founders decided they wanted to sell the business, they did a great deal of due diligence to vet the approximately 60 companies interested in acquiring Libertas Rehab. InHome Therapy was a promising fit and “a good partnership from the start,” Banlasan said.
“I’m very excited for our staff because of the possibilities this opens up for them: stability of work, benefits, professional growth, help with continuing education and things like that,” said Banlasan. “Many of our therapists have been with us from the start, and they’re happy to hear we’re under a bigger umbrella now.”
Taking care of their therapists has always been hugely important to the men, because “if the therapist is cared for, the patient is going to receive quality care,” Salazar said.
The brand is excited to have them stay on as an integral part of the business, Anglin said.
“With these three, we have acquired some very talented management. They understand the business, have great work ethics and had a culture very similar to ours, where everything is centered around the therapist,” Anglin said. “They’re very much devoted to growing and expanding our business. It’s been a great match.”
