Republic Wireless today announced a voluntary recall of a limited number of older Relay charging cables that may overheat and pose a burn risk. Republic is aware of 2 incidents of cables overheating. No injuries have been reported.
The affected cables were included with Relays sold primarily between May 2018 and Nov 2018 at Relaygo.com, Target, and Amazon.
The recall does not affect Relay charging cables with the logo imprinted on the charging head.
Out of an abundance of caution, and because customer safety is a top priority, Republic Wireless is asking customers to stop using affected cables. Customers with affected cables and active accounts will be notified via email and receive replacement cables free of charge.
