“As ‘Chicago’s Neighborhood Hotel,’ we are committed to giving back to the community.”

In response to the shocking events that took place at the Ronald McDonald House location in Chicago during wide-spread looting last week, Hotel Chicago West Loop is donating 10% of each hotel room rate booked to Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana, effective immediately. Donations will be applied to any room type, any time, now through the end of the year whenever guests use code “RMHC1” when booking direct through http://www.hotelchicagowestloop.com or 312.243.2900. The three-year-old independent property is known for providing a Chicago cultural experience, with hallways that double as art galleries and select guest rooms that feature murals painted by local street artists.

“We were absolutely shocked when we saw the frightened families with sick children at Ronald McDonald House and knew we had to do something,” said Jean-Luc Laramie, General Manager of Hotel Chicago West Loop, which also offers a special reduced rate plan to Ronald McDonald House families. “As ‘Chicago’s Neighborhood Hotel,’ we are committed to giving back to the community. We hope our contribution helps ease at least a little bit of the stress that this unfortunate incident has inflicted.”

On Monday, August 10th, dozens of sick children and their families trembled inside the Ronald McDonald House at 211 E. Grand Avenue. “They are already in a really, really difficult spot, and having this kind of additional stress and worry about getting to and from the hospital … because of safety concerns is just doubling the strain,” Ronald McDonald House Charities’ Lisa Mitchell told ABC7.

The Ronald McDonald House in Chicago aims to keep families together with their hospitalized children who are being treated at Lurie Children’s Hospital, which is just a few minutes away. Hotel Chicago West Loop supported this Ronald McDonald House location previously in 2019 when the entire hotel staff donated a day to cook and serve families homemade meals. The hotel also assists Chicago’s medical community by housing some of the families in need who are receiving medical attention in the Illinois Medical District nearby.
