I’m writing to honor my Messiah and to help Jewish and non-Jewish followers of Yeshua confidently raise their children to have trust in the Lord and His Word.

Author Janie-sue Wertheim helps guide children to bridge the gap between traditional Judaism and belief in Jesus with The Missing Menorah: A Story for Families Who Love the Messiah ($35.99, paperback, 9781662827228; $9.99, e-book, 9781662827235).

When Danny’s classmates tease him, he is forced to think about his family’s traditions more deeply than before. Why do they celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas, when most families celebrate only one? While he wrestles with these questions, he is troubled by the disappearance of his family’s menorah, and the struggles of a friend who comes to Danny for help.

“I’m writing to honor my Messiah and to help Jewish and non-Jewish followers of Yeshua confidently raise their children to have trust in the Lord and His Word,” said Wertheim.

Janie-sue Wertheim was born in New Haven, Connecticut and raised in a traditional Jewish home. Since meeting her Messiah Yeshua, she has worked in children’s and youth ministry for over 35 years, created Bible curriculum and other materials, including the production of two albums of Jewish Gospel music for children. Wertheim has two previous books published — Walk With Yeshua Through the Jewish Year and A Messianic Family Haggadah — in addition to other published articles with Focus on the Family. Currently, she teaches ladies’ Bible study groups and is involved in the counseling ministry at her home congregation. Wertheim and her husband Steve have two married children — a son, and a daughter — and they have five grandchildren.
