Healthpointe’s Official COVID-19 Statement

We are remaining vigilant against COVID-19 at Healthpointe by revising our protocols on an almost daily basis, which includes updated Visitor Policies and safety protocols, and resources for our clients, so that we can continue to provide you with the best care and service.

At Healthpointe, we know that sports, work, or personal injuries do not stop for COVID-19. Because we want you to continue to remain as healthy as possible, we have not stopped either – that is why all of Healthpointe’s locations have remained open for those who need non-COVID-19 related treatment. Our top concern at Healthpointe is your health, and that is why we have taken the necessary precautions to be prepared to safely treat you with the highest quality of patient care.

Like you, our team here at Healthpointe is closely following all COVID-19-related updates from the Centers for Disease Control, the World Health Organization, the National Institutes of Health, as well as local and federal government officials. We do this to ensure we are taking all necessary measures to continue prioritizing the safety of patients visiting our clinics and our dedicated staff members, so that we can do our part in effectively minimizing the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

We ask that if you are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, are aware that you have been exposed, are pending test results, or have a diagnosis, please do not come into to our facilities. Instead, please call us to see if we may be able to schedule a Telemedicine visit, or to reschedule your visit until you feel better. It is critical that if you have a fever, dry cough, or any other COVID-19 symptoms, that you speak to your primary care physician.

We are not equipped to test or treat for COVID-19 at our facilities, and any patients exhibiting symptoms will be referred to a local COVID-19 equipped facility for treatment. Additionally, if you are exhibiting these symptoms, please eliminate your contact with others so we can all do our best of containing COVID-19 as much as possible. We will work with you to reschedule your appointments or offer a Telemedicine option when possible, and will be here to safely treat you when you are ready.

We are remaining vigilant by revising our protocols on an almost daily basis, which includes updated Visitor Policies and safety protocols, and resources for our clients, so that we can continue to provide you with the best care and service.

Here are some of the current steps we are taking during this Coronavirus crisis, as of June 9th, 2020. We continue to monitor this rapidly adjusting situation daily, and we promise to continue to adjust accordingly:

  • A reception coordinator will temperature screen everyone before or upon entering clinic, including staff, providers and patients.
  • It is mandatory that ALL patients, guests and employees to wear some form of a mask or nose and mouth covering when entering Healthpointe. If those entering do not have a face-mask, a disposable one will be provided.
  • Patients, guests, and employees are required to maintain at least 6 feet of social distancing (when possible)
  • Employees who must interact with others within 6 feet or less are required to wear face-shields and masks.
  • Patients are asked COVID-19 screening questions before or upon entering the clinic. If they do not pass, they will be redirected to their cars, and asked to call our phone coordinator. The provider will then be decide the best course of action based on the questionnaire, the patients’ needs and employee safety.
  • If any of our staff believes they are exhibiting signs or symptoms of COVID-19, they are required to inform both management and our medical director, and are to self-isolate at home for a minimum of 10 days. They must remain out of office until fever is absent for a continuous 72 hours and all symptoms are resolved for a minimum of 24 hours, without the use of symptom-controlling medications (such as cough suppressants), per CDC guidelines.
  • Patient areas of our clinics are sanitized every 1-2 hours during operational hours, again after the clinics close, and in the morning before we open. Objects that patients regularly interact with, such as chairs, pens, and items in exam rooms, are wiped down and sanitized after each use.
  • Plexiglas shields have been installed at our front desks to minimize contact between patients and staff members.
  • Hand sanitizers and/or sanitizing wipes are available to our patients in our reception areas and throughout our clinics.
  • We have also instilled social distancing measures, which include but are not limited to:
  • A policy that only allows treating patients and employees inside the clinic. If a patient arrives with a guest, we are asking that guest(s) wait in their car, with the exception of underage patients or the children of patients, and patients with special needs.
  • Allowing no more than 5-10 patients in our reception area at any given time, depending upon the size of the reception area. We have eliminated any other areas for patients to congregate to allow for proper social distancing.
  • If additional patients arrive, we will confirm their cell number and ask them to please wait in their car until we call them in. Patients can let us know they have arrived in person or by phone, and all patients have the option of waiting in their car rather than the reception area.

Furthermore, patients who are uncomfortable coming into our office for a visit or those who may be immunocompromised, are now able to see if they qualify for a Telemedicine visit. For more information on whether this kind of appointment is right for you, please call us at (800) 956-2663.
