We are excited to break ground on another ambulatory surgery center in partnership with HCA Healthcare and its physician partners.

Hammes, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare development, broke ground on the new Blue River Surgery Center in Kansas City on November 1. The new ambulatory surgery center is being developed on behalf of the HCA Healthcare Mid-America Division in collaboration with more than 20 physician partners.
Hammes is serving as the developer for the new 22,500-square-foot facility, which is expected to open in late 2023.
The new Blue River Surgery Center will complement HCA Healthcare’s existing mix of surgery center locations throughout the Kansas City market. The facility will include five operating rooms and two specialty procedure rooms for orthopedic, gastroenterology and other multi-specialty cases in a fast-growing area in south Kansas City.
“HCA Healthcare is committed to the care and improvement of human life,” said Rebecca Eckhoff, Vice President of Operations for the HCA Healthcare Mid-America Ambulatory Surgery Division. “The upcoming opening of Blue River Surgery Center will bring convenient outpatient care to our community in a new, state-of-the-art facility. We are pleased to partner with Hammes, a trusted partner of HCA Healthcare, on this well-executed project.”
“We are excited to break ground on another ambulatory surgery center in partnership with HCA Healthcare and its physician partners,” said Justin Shea, Principal of Hammes Partners.
Project partners include ACI Boland Architects and JE Dunn Construction.
