“Bringing in CNOS to the community has been a great partnership for both CNOS and UnityPoint Health as this has provided our community with needed surgeons that not only practice here but also live here,” affirms Jill Nelson, Community Development Director with the GFDGA.

The series of videos being released from the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance continue to show the diversity of businesses in the region and the third video takes it even a step further by demonstrating the partnerships that are established.
CNOS is featured in this video with orthopedic surgeons Dr. Elijah Miller and Dr. Prashanth Anand. CNOS has partnered with UnityPoint Health – UnityPoint Fort Dodge and is in the hospital at 802 Kenyon Road.
This partnership was established when Iowa Central Community College Athletic Department began working with CNOS. CNOS is in Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, and is an integrated physician network serving patients in the tri-state area from four convenient locations and satellite clinics throughout Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota.
From the partnership with ICCC, CNOS began sending surgeons to UnityPoint Health and in 2020 it had grown to where full-time surgeons were needed seven (7) days a week here in Fort Dodge. Specialties that are provided include medical treatment and preventative services for bones, joints, muscles, nerves, and the brain.
“The patient/doctor relationship is stronger in a smaller community as patients trust us and this trust is critical when it comes to good patient outcomes,” states Dr. Prashanth Anand.
Both Dr. Miller and Dr. Anand highlight the importance of their living in the community while also building a strong bond by becoming an integral part of participating in activities throughout the region.
The ten videos in the series provide a sundry of businesses that are found in the region. “Bringing in CNOS to the community has been a great partnership for both CNOS and UnityPoint Health as this has provided our community with needed surgeons that not only practice here but also live here,” affirms Jill Nelson, Community Development Director with the GFDGA.
Lydia Schuur, Communication Specialist with the GFDGA added, “This video again is a perfect example of the partnerships that are created here in Fort Dodge and this region and turn into an opportunity like this by having their practice here in town.”
A theme throughout all the videos is the sense of place and community. Family and raising their children in a community that has beautiful parks and trails, quality schools, and even a community college and university are continually identified as key reasons they have selected Fort Dodge as their home.
