Gateway Genomics, a leading developer of direct-to-consumer genetic tests that give families insight into their future children, announces inclusion in the Inc. 5000 2020 list of fastest growing private companies for the second year in a row. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2016. Ranking in the list is determined by the percentage revenue growth from 2016 to 2019, with minimums set for each year. With 1,623% revenue growth from 2016 to 2019, Gateway Genomics ranked #296 in the list, and #22 in the Health sector.

Even with our higher revenue in 2016, our ranking was mostly unchanged from last year, highlighting the exponential growth we’ve seen for our product.”
Gateway Genomics’ SneakPeek Early Gender DNA Test product is a fetal sex test that can be taken at just 8 weeks into pregnancy with 99.1% accuracy. The test is available in two ways: An At-Home version that can be ordered from the company’s ecommerce website, and a Clinical version that is offered in over 900 participating medical locations in four countries including the US. The two channels give moms the choice of self-administering the test from the comfort of home or visiting a clinic to have blood drawn by a phlebotomist. Both can return gender results in as little as 48 hours.
In achieving the Inc. 500|5000 list, Gateway Genomics joins notable biotech companies 10x Genomics, Prometheus Labs and Crescendo Biosciences, which were also recognized by this select group in their earlier years. The three-year average growth rate of this year’s honorees was over 500% with a median rate of 165%, and the aggregate revenue of the group was $209 billion in 2019.
