French International School of San Diego Fundraises for Canine Companions for Independence to Raise Awareness

“This is a great cause and we hope to raise awareness amongst the students, parents and the Southern California community as a whole.” – Thierry Pasquet, School Director

Students from two to fourteen years of age from La Petite Ecole du Lycee Francais de San Diego have raised $6,727.55 for Canine Companions for Independence. The funds were raised in the school Fun Run Fundraiser held last May. The students will present a large check to Canine Companions for Independence to raise awareness.

Canine Companions breeds, raises and trains dogs that aren’t just the ears and eyes of their human partners; they are their goodwill ambassadors and often their best friends. They open up new opportunities and possibilities and spread incredible joy. Canine Companions for Independence unites people with assistance dogs in a powerful program that leads to greater independence and confidence. As of 2018, it has placed over 6,000 assistance dogs with disabled recipients at no charge.

La Petite Ecole du Lycee Francais de San Diego is a fully-immersive bilingual school of 215 students from 29 nationalities that offers small class sizes to students ages two and up. Accredited by the French Ministry of Education, it uses traditional French teaching methods to build intelligent young scholars with strong moral character and the profound educational advantages of bilingualism.
