Solidifying its role as the leading clinical-grade mental health solution for Veterans, Service members and their families, NeuroFlow has hired Matthew Stiner to serve as the company’s Director of Government Affairs. Stiner most recently served as a Director at Humana Military, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Humana, Inc. and was responsible for shaping the company’s strategy for public sector activities and guiding its execution across the enterprise.
In addition to hiring Stiner, the company partnered with the Washington D.C.-based impact venture firm, Risk and Return, led by former Navy SEAL, White House Advisor, and Senior Advisor for McCrystal Group, Jeffrey Eggers. Risk and Return joins a syndicate of NeuroFlow’s latest investment round which announced an initial close in December 2019.
Stiner will lead growth strategies for NeuroFlow, taking on the responsibility of maintaining and building relationships with federal agencies, Congress, military and veteran-serving organizations. “This company has already demonstrated its unique capability to bring behavioral health services to individuals in need while improving organizations’ performance. They are filling a clear gap in care, and I am beyond excited and honored to join the NeuroFlow team and continue bringing the proven technology and services to our military and Veterans,” says Stiner, a former Marine, Iraq War veteran and Truman Scholar.
“The opportunity to serve Veterans, Service members, and their families is engrained in NeuroFlow’s DNA; it’s a key tenet of our founding story. We have had a tremendous amount of success in bridging the gaps in care in the commercial market – it’s time we bring that value to our government partners.” said NeuroFlow CEO Chris Molaro.
NeuroFlow’s behavioral health technology enables organizations to increase individual effectiveness, readiness, and overall wellness while gaining real-time individual and population-level insights. Last year, the US Air Force and the Air Force Innovation Program (AFWERX) signed up to provide service members access to NeuroFlow’s mobile app built to help support and manage personal wellness, as well as started an engagement with the Philadelphia Fire Department – supporting first responders. And most recently, the National Science Foundation announced a $750K award to support their continued growth after a successful year-long Phase I contract with the Philadelphia VAMC.
“We’re excited about partnering with NeuroFlow. They have a strong team, with a passionate commitment to their mission.” explained Risk and Return Managing Director Jeffrey Eggers. “NeuroFlow is well-positioned to accelerate their impact amidst the challenges of COVID-19, supporting our military, veterans, and first responders.”
