EscapeMaker Awards Free Local Travel Getaways to COVID-19 Pandemic Healthcare Workers

EscapeMaker is calling for nominations from the public describing their friend, colleague, family member, or community hero’s impact on the frontlines or a story about who they have helped in 1000 words or less.

Multiple winners will be chosen every few weeks to receive an overnight weekend getaway vacation package to various inns and bed and breakfasts from the regions just outside New York City, including the Hudson Valley’s The Rushmore Estate and The Croff House Bed & Breakfast, Central New Jersey’s Chauncey Hotel, and Diamond Mills Hotel in the Catskills. The first 2-night getaway sweepstakes to The Rushmore Estate closed last week. Natalie Campisi, a critical care registered nurse at a hospital in northern New Jersey was chosen as the grand prize winner among hundreds of nominations.

The owners of The Rushmore Estate were so moved by the influx of submissions that they also awarded the top five finalists a one-night stay. Finalists included: Todd King, an ICU nurse at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, Ashley Sells, an ER nurse at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, Lauren Scheets, an ER nurse who works the night shift at Newark University Hospital, Jennifer Cadiz, a registered nurse in at Mount Sinai Queens Hospital and Alisa Jaganja, a registered nurse at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan.
