EmPRO Insurance Company (EmPRO), a newly launched medical professional liability insurer in New York State, provided an outsized thrill for their Physicians’ Club Members and prospective Insureds by hosting Elena Ricardo singing selections from the Broadway hit, “Beautiful—The Carole King Musical”.

The fourth in a series of virtual events hosted on behalf of the EmPRO Physicians’ Club, Ms. Ricardo sang a selection of songs from the hit Broadway show, including “Beautiful” and “You’ve Got a Friend”. Interspersed throughout, she generously answered questions through the interactive format and shared her experiences about working and auditioning on Broadway, as well as having Carole King in the audience during one of her performances (her signed copy of “Tapestry” hangs in a place of honor in her home).

It seemed Ms. Ricardo was always destined to “tread the boards of Broadway”—her parents met and married while working on a famed Bob Fosse Production. In addition to her work portraying Carole King, Ms. Ricardo has also starred in the Broadway production of “Mama Mia” playing the lead, Sophie Sheridan.

As a way to connect during these times of social distancing, the Physicians’ Club began hosting virtual Broadway events that so far have included “The Phantom of the Opera”, “Wicked”, and “Songs from Disney Hit Shows, including the Lion King”. Next up, a magic show with Illusionist and Mentalist TJ Tana.
