Elev8 Cannabis’s Founder Appointed to National Cannabis Industry Association Board of Directors

Elev8 Cannabis today announced Seun Adedeji, its founder and chief executive, has been appointed to the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA) Board of Directors effective January 27. Today’s announcement marks the first board appointment for Mr. Adedeji.

“We are very pleased to welcome Seun Adedeji to the NCIA Board,” said Aaron Smith, co-founder and CEO of NCIA. “Seun’s experience managing multi-state dispensaries along with his unique perspective and visionary leadership will be invaluable to NCIA as we continue representing the cannabis industry on Capitol Hill and beyond.”

Mr. Adedeji, 27, who is the youngest multi-state dispensary owner in the country and the youngest African American dispensary owner, entered the cannabis business at age 23. He envisioned creating a cannabis dispensary chain dedicated to welcoming cannabis consumers from every walk of life. He wanted to provide veterans and others seeking relief through medical cannabis in a welcoming retail atmosphere to buy cannabis products and learn about them from an informed and knowledgeable staff. Mr. Adedeji developed the Elev8 Cannabis brand based on these ideals and opened the dispensary in 2017, in Eugene. He would later relocate to a different Eugene dispensary, where it has since operated. After obtaining a real estate and cannabis license in Massachusetts, Mr. Adedeji opened a second Elev8 Cannabis dispensary in the city of Athol. He will open additional stores in nearby Williamstown and Orange in the state by spring 2021. Before founding Elev8 Cannabis, Mr. Adedeji worked in telecommunications management and sales. He also attended college briefly in Dallas, Texas.

“My appointment to NCIA’s Board is important on multiple levels, and I could not be prouder to join a dedicated board that shares the similar objectives as I do regarding the growth of the cannabis industry,” said Mr. Adedeji.
