Austin Oral Surgery – an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice with 11 locations throughout Central Texas – is pleased to announce Dr. David Szalay, DDS, MD, has joined the practice. An accomplished oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Szalay’s primary responsibility will be to treat patients in the new Pflugerville office, which is scheduled to open this fall. The new office is slated for 1601 E. Pflugerville Parkway, Building 2; Suite 2101.
“To better meet the needs of our patients and colleagues, we have been planning a Pflugerville location for several years. We are thrilled to have recruited Dr. David Szalay to help get that office started this fall. Dr. Szalay is very well trained, gifted and compassionate and will be a wonderful addition to the Austin team,” said Dr. Thomas Weil, president of Austin Oral Surgery.
Dr. Szalay grew up in Austin, Texas, and graduated with honors from The University of Texas at Austin. He earned his dental degree from Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas, where he graduated top of his class and received the dental implant award from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Following dental school, Dr. Szalay earned his medical degree from UT Health San Antonio, where he graduated at the top of his class and was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He remained in San Antonio to complete his general surgery internship, his training in adult and pediatric anesthesia and his professional training in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Although Dr. Szalay practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, he has special interests in dental implants, bone grafting, TMJ reconstruction and orthognathic surgery. He has lectured locally and nationally and has published numerous articles and book chapters on a wide range of oral and maxillofacial surgery topics. He also participates in mission trips, treating cleft lip and palate patients.
Austin Oral Surgery has been serving the community for nearly 50 years. Doctors James Fricke and Sam Fason established Austin Oral Surgery with one goal in mind: to put patients first. Austin Oral Surgery continues that legacy of exceptional care today, treating patients with a wide variety of oral/maxillofacial needs from wisdom teeth removal and corrective jaw surgery to dental implants and more. The practice has grown to include 11 locations throughout Central Texas, with a 12th location slated to open fall 2020. For more information, visit http://www.austinoralsurgery.com.
