Sharon Gilliland said she is inspired by the individuals who come to DON Recovery Services to receive Suboxone, Subutex and Vivitrol treatment and counseling.

“To me, anyone who walks through our door is a superhero because they fight a battle every day,” Gilliland said. “Yes, relapses happen, but it is just a pebble on the path. We are human, and to me, falling and gettingback up to start over is harder than just staying down. The bravery it takes to stand back up, brush yourself off and learn a lesson is unbelievable.”

Gilliland said individuals who seek recovery are among the strongest people. She said everyone who is struggling with addiction is fighting daily battles and that fight continues every day.

Gilliland said she is passionate about helping the community and hopes to make the battles for those addicted easier through treatment. She said she wants to be a helping hand to anyone willing to take that first step and help themselves recover at DON Recovery.
