DocWire News, a physician-focused medical content platform, is excited to announce its partnership with CardioNerds – a highly-engaging podcast and educational platform that democratizes cardiovascular education and invigorates passion for cardiovascular medicine and science.
Founded by Amit Goyal, MD MAS, an interventional cardiology fellow at the Cleveland Clinic, and Daniel Ambinder, MD, an interventional/structural cardiology fellow at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, the CardioNerds aim to create and disseminate educational content, promote diversity and inclusion, provide mentorship and sponsorship, invigorate a love for cardiovascular medicine and science, and foster wellness and humanity.
This partnership is crucial for expanding reach and access to cardiology news and information, and will kick off with the launch of DocWire News’ expert knowledge hub focused on perspectives and advancement in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
“We CardioNerds are all about finding innovative ways to democratize cardiovascular education. Our partnership with DocWire News helps us do just that by expanding our digital footprint and amplifying the phenomenal educational content being created by the CardioNerds family of trainees and experts. We are especially proud of the Medical Journalism Program, made possible by this collaboration, in which trainees serve as CardioNerds Correspondents to raise awareness about key cardiovascular news. We are studying the impact of this medical journal experience on medical trainees under the direction of Dr. Jessie Holtzman (UCSF Cardiology Fellow and Executive CardioNerds Correspondent) and are looking forward to the results of this study,” said Dr. Amit Goyal.
“We at CardioNerds have had a great relationship with DocWire News and look forward to continuing this in future, at an even larger scale,” stated Dr. Daniel Ambinder.
A key element to this partnership is the launch of the CardioNerds Medical Journalism Program – an immersive experience whereby CardioNerds Correspondents develop as journalists in the cardiovascular arena. Correspondents are residents and fellows – specializing in interventional cardiology, preventive cardiology, women’s cardiovascular health, cardiac electrophysiology, internal medicine, advanced heart failure, and transplantation – who publish regularly across DocWire News’ platforms.
“With the addition of the correspondents comes a wealth of new insight into specific subspecialties such as heart failure, arrhythmias, and interventional cardiology,” remarked Courtney Leonard, Vice President of Operations at Mashup Media LLC, DocWire News’ parent company. The correspondents hail from a variety of backgrounds and present an impressive array of interests and will help guide specialty conference coverage for cardiology’s major meetings, including major annual scientific sessions, such as those given by ACC (American College of Cardiology), AHA (American Heart Association), ESC (European Society of Cardiology), HRS (Heart Rhythm Society), and TCT (Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics).
“We at DocWire News are passionate about communicating the latest updates in cardiology and are excited to tap into the valuable insights and unique perspectives that the CardioNerds produce through their powerful podcasts, videos, and infographics,” said Leonard. “This partnership will allow us to continue expanding reach and accessibility to help advance the cardiology field and ultimately improve patient outcomes.”
