Direct-to-Consumer Healthcare Now Available on Amazon

A truly free solution for most healthcare issues

With COVID concerns driving patients to use telemedicine instead of going to a doctor’s office for non-emergent medical issues, two Ohio health companies created a strategic partnership to offer a $0 co-pay telemedicine solution with free prescription drugs to Amazon customers. Washington Twp.-based Healthcare Advisory Network and Wooster-based BasiCare Plus have partnered to provide employer groups, colleges, and associations such as the Ohio Restaurant Association the program for the last two years.

Health Advisory Network Vice President Mike Fitzgerald stated, “Offering our telemedicine service through Amazon gives us an opportunity to provide inexpensive healthcare to people who don’t have any healthcare coverage. It also helps others avoid costly co-pays/deductibles when visiting a doctor, urgent care center or emergency room for non-emergent issues.”

BasiCare Plus provides 24/7 coverage with no co-pays or deductibles through national telemedicine giant MDLive for up to nine family members for as low as $65 for a three- month subscription. The six-month option costs the family $125, while the 12-month options cost $244.

Added BasiCare Plus President Brad Mullen, “We are Amazon’s only telemedicine provider with a prescription drug benefit. It offers no co-pay for about 90% of the generic drugs prescribed by our doctors. That feature really helps families avoid high co-pays that they might normally incur. Considering that the average telemedicine visit costs about $80, our BasiCare Plus is a tremendous value for an entire family. And we just added free flu prescriptions to our formulary.”

BasiCare Plus also provides discounts on generic and name-brand medications prescribed by primary care physicians at more than 65,000 pharmacies.
