“As we evolve into the next chapter of our legacy, we look forward to the support of Dental Care Alliance in this journey,” shared Dr. Brunsden

Dental Care Alliance (DCA) proudly announce the affiliation of KidZdent, a nine doctor, single location orthodontic and pediatric practice located in Old Bridge, NJ.

Founded in 1985 by owners Dr. Cavan Brunsden, a pediatric dentist, and Dr. Nancy Villa, an orthodontist, the practice prides itself on their strong ties to the surrounding communities. The dentists, orthodontists, and experienced team members at KidZdent are known for the inviting and educational environment they have created. Key to their success is a tell-show-do approach to treating children, which allows the child and the parent to feel at ease throughout the entire appointment.

KidZdent’s mission is to create an inviting and educational environment for children. The state-of-the-art dental practice and highly qualified, experienced team has helped countless families acquire healthier and more attractive smiles. The team takes the time to explain treatments, answer all questions, and ensure that all patients, from toddlers to young adults, are comfortable and happy.

The entire teams prides itself on staying current with modern pediatric dental treatments and techniques, and provide educational materials and instruction in ways that children and families alike can understand.

Dr. Cavan Brunsden, DMD, Pediatric Dentist, was formerly an elementary school teacher and assistant principal. He completed his dental degree at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine where he graduated as a member of OKU, the national dental honor society. Following a two-year pediatric dental residency at Albert Einstein/Montefiore Medical Center in New York, Dr. Brunsden began practicing pediatric dentistry in New Jersey in 1981.

Dr. Brunsden has served as past president of The Middlesex County Dental Society, trustee of the New Jersey Dental Association, and for forty years served as Children’s Dental Health and as state manager of the award winning “Give Kids a Smile” free dental care program.

“KidZdent took forty years to develop into an ideal model for the delivery of oral health care to children. The needs of the child have always directed us to educate, to treat, and to provide compassionate care,” said Dr. Brunsden. “As we evolve into the next chapter of our legacy, we look forward to the support of Dental Care Alliance in this journey.”

Dr. Nancy Villa, DMD, Orthodontist, grew up in Jersey City and became interested in the art of orthodontics while working as a dental assistant. She attended Rutgers University and received a bachelor’s degree in science, and later received her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. Following dental school, Dr. Villa completed a two-year postgraduate program to become a specialist in orthodontics at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.

“Family Orthodontics at KidZdent is dedicated to the art of creating beautiful faces with aligners and braces. Over the years we have earned the respect of our community and our affiliation with DCA allows us to continue to serve,” shared Dr. Villa.

This affiliation continues the rapid growth and momentum for the organization and brings DCA’s footprint in New Jersey to 19 allied practices, and DCA’s total footprint to over 390 allied practices across the US. This affiliation increases DCA’s presence in central New Jersey as DCA strategically builds market density to serve the lifetime needs of patients in these communities.

“Drs. Brunsden and Villa have built KidZdent into a first-class practice with an outstanding reputation for serving patients and the community,” commented Andrew Clarke, Vice President, Business Development. “KidZdent’s team-oriented culture is especially suited to provide excellent care to the families they serve. They are a truly special group, and we are thrilled to have them join Dental Care Alliance.”

The Brunsden – Villa Pediatric Dental Care Center at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine was created to educate pediatric dentists to serve the needs of the children in New Jersey.
