Creating Healthier Communities Elects Karen Addis to its National Board of Directors


Karen Addis joins CHC National Board of Directors

“This is a diverse and talented board, deeply committed to advancing equity and working together for healthier communities,” said Karen Addis, board director at CHC.

CHC: Creating Healthier Communities, a nationwide nonprofit that serves as a catalyst for good health, announced today that Karen Addis, APR, president and CEO of Addis Communications, has been unanimously elected to its national board of directors.

“We’re delighted to welcome Karen to the board,” said Thomas G. Bognanno, president and CEO at CHC. “Her entrepreneurial skills, nonprofit knowledge, and communications experience will be instrumental in advancing CHC’s mission.”

Addis began her career in magazine writing and editing and has held several senior-level management positions with public relations agencies in the Washington, DC area. As CEO and president of her own communications firm, Addis works with clients to help them achieve success in strategic planning, message development, and marketing communications.

Addis holds a master’s certificate in publications from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations from the University of Maryland, College Park. Addis received her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) certification from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
