The Illinois Health Care Association (IHCA) recently announced Coulterville Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Coulterville, Illinois, as the winner of the 2019 IHCA Excellence Award for Long Term Care Centers. The award was presented during the Opening General Session at the association’s 69th Annual Convention & Expo in Springfield this fall.

The IHCA Excellence Award for Long Term Care Centers was created to draw attention to the quality of care being provided in the long term care centers each day. Winners are judged on a variety of criteria, including quality measures, 5-Star ratings and resident and staff satisfaction survey information.

“This award highlights the outstanding care offered in our centers across the state,” stated IHCA Executive Director Matthew Hartman. “It takes into consideration the procedures and practices put in place by facilities to ensure their residents are receiving quality care around the clock.”

Coulterville Rehabilitation & Health Care Center has been providing excellent service in long term care for more than 14 years. The 75-bed skilled nursing center provides various services and amenities for residents, including physical, occupational and speech therapies, advanced wound care, pain management, balance training, respite care and more.

Coulterville carries a CMS 5-star quality rating, the highest rating from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services for quality care and customer service. In addition, Coulterville has received both the Bronze and Silver National Quality Awards from the American Health Care Association (AHCA) and the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL), the leading association for long term and post-acute care. The AHCA/NCAL award recognized Coulterville for its dedication and commitment to quality of care for seniors and persons with disabilities.

“The community’s repeated recognition – the IHCA award, CMS 5-star rating and AHCA/NCAL quality awards – from multiple organizations demonstrate the high level of care Coulterville Rehabilitation & Health Care Center provides to its residents and their families every day,” said Randy Bloom, Ph.D., chief operating officer of Tutera Senior Living & Health Care, which owns the Coulterville facility and is one of the nation’s premier providers of diversified, post-acute senior health care services.
