Cottonwood Tucson, a leading provider of inpatient holistic health treatment for mental health and substance use disorders, is pleased to announce the appointment of Aaron Wilson, M.D., as its new chief medical officer. Dr. Wilson assumed his new position effective October 1.
“Dr. Wilson is a talented physician leader who possesses the distinct ability to create and execute programs that optimize the patient experience while ensuring peak patient care,” says Brandon Lasker, CEO of Cottonwood Tucson. “Addiction is a multifaceted disease requiring a diverse skill set to successfully manage, of which Dr. Wilson is highly qualified.”
Dr. Wilson brings extensive clinical and leadership experience to the Cottonwood Tucson team, having held key leadership positions such as the chief medical officer at Sierra Tucson in Tucson, AZ. Additionally, Dr. Wilson previously served as medical director of Archways Recovery Centers in Mesa, AZ, and as the chief medical officer at Valley Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Dr. Wilson also continues to serve in the position of chief medical officer of Sonora Behavioral Health Hospital, a 140 bed inpatient facility, in Tucson, AZ.
Dr. Wilson received his Medical Doctorate (MD) degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, New Orleans, LA, where he served as chief resident in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Dr. Wilson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is actively involved in numerous professional societies. Dr. Wilson also teaches at multiple academic centers.
