Community Health Charities is now CHC: Creating Healthier Communities. The new name and refreshed visual brand build on more than six decades of history plus recognize the organization’s future as a catalyst for transformative community change.
“Over the years, both the definition of health and our partners have evolved and expanded,” said Kevin Clayton, CHC board chair and vice president of diversity, inclusion and community engagement at the Cleveland Cavaliers. “To address individual and community health and wellbeing, we have to tackle the causes of chronic disease which include the social determinants of health, such as education, employment, transportation, food deserts and many other factors. Our new name better reflects that commitment.”
“We are a catalyst, bringing corporate, community and nonprofit leaders together to create healthier communities,” said Thomas G. Bognanno, president and CEO for CHC: Creating Healthier Communities. “Our new name is action-oriented and better reflects our end goal. We look forward to deepening relationships with all our partners around a shared commitment to driving community health and wellbeing.”
Each year, CHC: Creating Healthier Communities engages with thousands of corporate and government partners to mobilize the volunteer support and philanthropic resources of 17 million employees, driving millions of dollars in donations to high-impact nonprofit organizations working to address barriers to good health. CHC has driven nearly $2 billion through the Combined Federal Campaign, and in the last five years, its community-led and partner-centric approach has channeled more than $330 million to nonprofit partners.
