“In the last two weeks, all of our lives have changed and there’s a real shortage of food supplies out there,” said Matt Bressan, CEO and founder of Community Crunch. “Community Crunch was launched to feed ALL of our neighbors well in this time of uncertainty.”

Fresh Crunch Food, a provider of boxed lunches for student tour groups, today announced the launch of its newest business line called Community Crunch. Community Crunch is a dinner delivery service that is committed to providing healthy, ready-to-eat meals to families in the northern Virginia area. The meals are carefully prepared by top chefs to ensure families can stay healthy with balanced meals. As an added bonus, the meal plan is set up in a 3+1 model: for every three meals purchased, one meal will be donated and delivered to anyone you choose.
“In the last two weeks, all of our lives have changed in a dramatic way and there’s a real shortage of food supplies out there,” said Matt Bressan, CEO and founder of Community Crunch. “Community Crunch was launched to serve delicious meals to the Northern Virginia community. Now more than ever, this type of food delivery service is needed. We also wanted to find a way to give back to the community and the 3+1 meal program allows us to donate meals to anyone else right now who needs extra support — it could be your grandparents, your local church group, a non-profit or a friend who is struggling. We want to take care of our community and offer individuals a way to also give back — this program will do just that.”
Community Crunch is partnering with local farms and suppliers to minimize handling and support fellow small businesses. To support the government’s isolation guidance right now, all meal kits are packaged carefully and left on doorsteps. All you have to do is heat them up!
Here’s how it works:
With the purchase of (3) 4-6 person meals (vegetable, starch, protein and vegan options), Community Crunch will deliver a free meal to whomever you choose in Fairfax and/or Arlington County (a family in need, a friend, the elderly, a church group) or Community Crunch can donate it for you.
You can select from a few menu options, to support your household size:
- 3+1 Meal Kit (4-6 plentiful servings per meal)
- Subscription 3+1 Four-Week Plan (4-6 servings per meal)
- 3+1 Meal Kit for 2 People (3-4 servings per meal)
- Subscription 3+1 Meal Kit for 2 People (3-4 servings per meal)
The meal plans and pricing are updated weekly. Some sample meals include: fresh green salads and dressings, artisan dinner rolls, chicken kabobs with grilled veggies, basmati rice and tomato and cucumber salad, Rosemary grilled chicken with green beans and Israeli couscous and eggplant parmesan with penne pasta, caesar salad and garlic bread.
Community Crunch can also prepare custom meal options if you have food allergies, dietary restrictions or have vegan or vegetarian preferences.
“Community Crunch is a game changer for families in need right now, or for those who are extremely worried about the current volatility of the food supply chain,” said Michelle Schafer, a Great Falls resident who purchased Community Crunch last week for her family. “The meals are delicious and ready to eat! As someone who is working full time right now from home, I need hassle-free dinner options for my family. I am grateful for the Community Crunch team who is making a major difference by alleviating this stress factor for me during this uncertain time in our lives.”
