Incorporating telehealth and other virtual care solutions is the new reality in healthcare. It must be part of a long-term patient journey strategy to engage patients, simplify communications and improve the patient experience, both inside and outside of the practice.

Updox, the only place to manage healthcare communications across both in-person and virtual care, today announced an agreement with Weave, the complete business toolbox and one of the fastest-growing companies in tech, to be their exclusive partner for virtual care solutions.
Weave’s reach into healthcare includes serving more than 15,000 dental, optometry, veterinary and specialty medical providers. Updox Telehealth, which includes Video Chat and Secure Text messaging, will provide Weave customers with safe, secure patient engagement opportunities that improve outcomes and enable more timely, efficient connections between patients and their physicians. As part of a virtual care strategy, it allows providers to be more efficient so that the care they provide is more effective.
“Weave is committed to modernizing the way businesses interact with customers. In the midst of this pandemic, and in how our customers connect with patients afterwards, it makes sense to offer a telehealth solution,” says Steve Roberts, vice president of Product Management at Weave. “Updox offers a HIPAA-compliant solution that is easy to use for both providers and patients. The convenience and efficiency it offers will have a great benefit to our customers.”
In a recent Updox survey, 42 percent of Americans have used telehealth services since the pandemic began and 82 percent of those who used telehealth services say they love/like it. When asked about preferences for using telehealth following COVID-19, 51% of respondents said convenience was most important to them, and 49% said that they wanted to be able to choose their provider rather than be assigned a healthcare professional for telehealth services. While telehealth plays a vital role in delivering safe, secure care during the pandemic, in a post-COVID world, virtual care offers opportunities for increased patient and staff satisfaction and improved efficiencies.
“Incorporating telehealth and other virtual care solutions is the new reality in healthcare. It must be part of a long-term patient journey strategy to engage patients, simplify communications and improve the patient experience, both inside and outside of the practice,” says Michael Morgan, chief executive officer of Updox. “We’re excited to partner with Weave and be the exclusive telehealth provider for their customers to support efforts to improve engagement and drive better health outcomes.”
