Clean the World, a global leader in water, sanitation, hygiene, and sustainability added a new offering to its impact product arsenal: Soap Saves Lives Comfort Kits. The kits will provide comfort and care to people across the country who are experiencing homelessness and economic hardship. Clean the World Foundation, the nonprofit arm of Clean the World, will be distributing the Comfort Kits to people in need through the Fresh Start WASH & Wellness program.

Since 2013, Clean the World has worked with corporate partners to create team-building events, allowing volunteers to come together and assemble hygiene kits and school kits for distribution to individuals living in poverty or to families displaced from their homes due to natural disasters. These events are hosted at offices, in conference settings, and from the comfort of employees’ homes.

“Clean the World is locking arms with the public and private sectors and constantly innovating new impact products in an effort to better the lives of the underserved,” says Shawn Seipler, Founder and CEO, Clean the World. “This new product offering allows organizations to engage their employees and make the world a better place while boosting the morale of their team and increasing customer affinity.”

To launch Soap Saves Lives Comfort Kits to the public, Clean the World hosted a walk-up event at The Linq Promenade, a Caesars Entertainment hotel located on the Las Vegas strip. As part of the launch, 3,000 Comfort Kits were sponsored through a public/private partnership with Clark County Government, Caesars Entertainment, and Caesars Foundation and were assembled by members of the community to help support people experiencing homelessness or economic hardship within the Las Vegas area. The Soap Saves Lives Comfort Kits will be distributed by Clean the World Foundation through the Fresh Start WASH & Wellness program to men, women, and children experiencing homelessness in Clark County, Nevada. In attendance were Clark County Government officials and staff, executives from Caesars Entertainment, Caesars Foundation, Trustees, team members, hotel guests, local social service organizations and wraparound service providers, and the general public.

The Fresh Start WASH & Wellness program in Clark County, NV operates three mobile shower trailers that have provided over 35,000 warm showers to the local unhoused community. Through eight mobile shower trailers, each with an ADA-compliant stall, Clean the World Foundation has distributed close to 46,000 hygiene kits and connected countless individuals to wrap-around services at partner host sites including free mental health or substance abuse assessments, food assistance, help getting identification, clean clothes, healthcare, veterinary care for animals, job placement training, and housing assistance. In 2022, 41 special events were hosted, 173 covid test kits were distributed, and 344 haircuts were given. The continuation of the Fresh Start WASH & Wellness Program provides the opportunity to serve the unhoused with the services needed to ultimately accelerate the successful transition of members of this community to housing, treatment, job placement, and self-sufficiency.

Clark County Government has extended the Fresh Start WASH & Wellness program to provide mobile showers and other hygiene services until June 2023. The Soap Saves Lives Comfort Kits will be delivered to individuals experiencing homelessness in addition to the program providing them with mobile showers, hygiene supplies, mobile COVID-19 testing, immunizations, and vaccinations.
