Christian Community Credit Union is pleased to announce Mike Poirier as its new Senior Vice President of Ministry Lending effective January 4, 2021. Poirier will replace Scott Reitsma, who is retiring from the Credit Union effective March 1, 2021.
“I’m excited to have Mike Poirier join our executive team. Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this critical role. Above all, he has a heart for our mission and fulfilling our Kingdom purpose,” said Blair Korschun, Christian Community Credit Union CEO. “I also want to thank Scott Reitsma for his 16 years of faithful service to our members and ministries. Scott is a great man of faith and a strong asset to the Credit Union. I’m happy for Scott as he moves on to the next chapter of his life.”
Poirier has an extensive background in commercial lending including nearly seven years at Patelco Credit Union serving as VP of Consumer and Commercial Loans. While at Patelco, Poirier revamped the Commercial Loan Department and built a scalable, digital consumer loan model. He also worked over six years at Evangelical Christian Credit Union’s Ministry Sales and Special Assets divisions, where he helped ministries resolve their financial problems during the Great Recession.
“I am excited to be able to work with ministries again at the Credit Union,” said Poirier. “This position is an answer to my prayers that brings me back to my passion—helping ministries grow and achieve their financial goals. I look forward to helping the Credit Union expand to a national marketplace and to making it even easier for ministries to work with us.”
Scott Reitsma, Senior Vice President of Ministry Development Group, said, “What I’m proudest of in my time at the Credit Union is building a community of commercial credit professionals who are committed to building God’s Kingdom. Together, this team helped many ministries navigate the Great Recession and became a lifeline to struggling ministries when they needed it most. Their hard work helped sustain the Credit Union and bring it through that challenging time.” Scott plans on spending more time on his ranch with his family and consulting with churches and ministries to help them with their financial health.
Christian Community Credit Union has over $800 million in assets and over 30,000 members nationwide. For over 64 years, the Credit Union has served as a financial partner of Christian ministries, churches, and their members.
