Seeing the heroism of our wonderful staff in this time of crisis is a testament to the commitment of our behavior analysts and our organization as a whole.

Amid uncertainty caused by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), and the disruption of services that aim to support people affected with autism, many staff from the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) still perform their responsibilities as therapists. The remarkable display of dedication caught the attention of CARD founder, Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh.

“April is Autism Awareness Month, and cancellation of events and other awareness efforts have been difficult for CARD and our patients,” said Dr. Granpeesheh. “But seeing the heroism of our wonderful staff in this time of crisis is a testament to the commitment of our behavior analysts and our organization as a whole.”

To express sincere gratitude for their hard work and commitment, Dr. Granpeesheh launched a collection of true and awe-inspiring stories called CARD Heroes to recognize CARD staff who are going beyond expectations to provide services to families in need of autism treatment.

“We are teaching, healing, and connecting across our centers and across the country,” added Briana Hall, behavior therapist and CARD Hero from Manhattan, New York. “As we manage through these perilous times, our commitment to help others becomes clearer than ever with each family we continue to serve.”
